Talk with Jessica Strain, d.a.i. Tübingen. A mustang breaker, school- teacher, ranch wife, bootlegger, poker player, racehorse rider, bush pilot and mother of two is the main character of the novel Half Broke Horses by Jeanette Walls. The focus of this presentation and interactive discussion is to complement the main character’s journey through the American West. This landscape shaped much of what is now considered to be the heart and soul of American character. This idea is portrayed in detail through pictures and video. The presentation also highlights the social conflicts and the choices available to those growing up in this vast and challenging land.
